The Bulletpunk Universe
TEQ63
Quiccs' signature character and the anchor of everything he's built since. The name is literal — TEQ for technique, 63 for the Philippines' country code.
Where he came from
TEQ63 grew out of the three things that shaped Quiccs most as an artist: Japanese super-robot design, hip-hop, and graffiti — with an extra push from the documentary Exit Through the Gift Shop and Shepard Fairey's thinking on consistent visual branding. The first run was twenty hand-painted resin figures, fragile and imperfect by design, sold almost entirely to collectors in the US before Quiccs had much of a following back home in the Philippines.
Design DNA
Every TEQ63, no matter the colorway, keeps the same core: a hoodie inspired by Michael Lau's NY Fat Crylon toy line, a mecha-influenced helmet, adidas Superstars, and the "arms in kangaroo pocket" stance borrowed from hip-hop style — all mirroring Quiccs' own personal look. The base sculpt is kept deliberately plain, which is what makes it possible to reimagine the character in more colorways and materials than almost any other figure in the designer toy space.
Scale and material
What started as one size has grown into a full range — from the compact BabyTEQ up to the 12-inch MegaTEQ — alongside special-material editions like WoodTEQ, carved from 100% oak in a 2021 collaboration with woodworking artist Knocks On Wood, chrome finishes, and an 18-karat gold edition known as Real Kid Midas.
On the road
TEQ63's first US solo show, "Reinforcements Have Arrived," ran at Clutter Gallery in Beacon, New York, from January 12 to February 1, 2019, showing more than twenty custom figures. Since then the character has traveled to New York Comic Con, ToyCon UK, the Taipei Toy Festival, the Thailand Toy Expo, Middle East Film & Comic Con, and Fuego del Barrio in Mexico City — usually picking up a location-specific colorway at each stop.
Manila Killa
In 2018, Quiccs became TOYCON PH's first-ever local ambassador for designer toys. He marked it with an exclusive Philippine flag-colored TEQ63 — "Manila Killa" — which sold out on the first day of the three-day convention. He's appeared at every TOYCON PH since.
TEQwear
TEQwear is the brand's apparel line, built with lifestyle director Dexter Laxamana around hip-hop, streetwear and technical-garment influences — function meeting fashion in Quiccs' colorways and Bulletpunk branding. Its signature piece is a limited-edition Ghost of Kurosawa zip-up hoodie with a hidden, detachable three-point nylon carry system that converts into a backpack.
Other releases include the Rebuild/Destroy hoodies, graffiti-style tees, and a reversible Tiger City / Reinforcements varsity jacket that nods to Quiccs' home city of Mandaluyong. The 2021 Manila Tees line with adidas came in three colorways — Scarlet, inspired by a mural he painted in Hawaii; White, repping Filipinos' love of basketball; and Black, featuring TEQ63 Manila Killa.
How many variants
Across a decade, TEQ63 and the wider Bulletpunk Universe have grown to roughly 490 named colorways and variants — spanning the core TEQ63 line, character spin-offs like the Ghost of Kurosawa and Mariko, brand collaborations, and one-off art pieces.
